It’s not very often I get excited at the prospect of the post arriving, but last week, I literally screamed as I opened the parcel I received from Messy Me!
Wrapped in delicate tissue paper, I found the most beautiful tunic bib. Although I had chosen the design and pattern, it was even better than I thought it would be.
Messy Me was founded by a lovely lady called Helen when she was inspired by her third child, who was a great eater but very messy – something a lot of us can empathise with, I’m sure! You may be wondering what makes these products so different from all the others out there on the market. Well, all products are designed and manufactured here, in the UK whilst the easy clean fabric is high quality and soft and is sourced from Denmark.
I chose the Messy Me tunic bib, quite simply because I don’t have one for Raife and I’ve never seen anything similar on the market. The designs available are absolutely beautiful – delicate florals and pretty stars and come in a range of colours, including red, grey and pink. I went for the grey star bib – Raife’s nursery is grey and white star themed, so it was a pretty obvious choice for me!
As a new mum, something that I always check before buying anything for my baby is the quality. This never really used to bother me – as long as it did the job, I was happy. However, this way of thinking has definitely changed since welcoming my son and I’ve found myself being more than willing to spend a bit more to ensure the best possible quality. As soon as I picked up the bib, I knew that the quality was great and this was emphasised when put to the test. We’re doing a combination of purees and baby led weaning which means mealtimes can get very messy! Raife enjoyed his banana (as you can see) and although there was food all over himself, the highchair and the bib, the food on the bib simply wiped off easily – no effort or scrubbing required whereas with fabric bibs, they have to go in the wash immediately. You can even pop the bib into the washing machine at 30 degrees if your little one gets particularly messy and the material is not affected in the slightest.
The bib fastens with velcro which means that you should get long wear out of it (something else that’s useful when it comes to babies because they grow so quickly!) The sleeves are short, meaning your little one can still move around and feel comfortable which is also a bonus. Although the bib is slightly on the large side for Raife, the guide does state that the bib is suitable from ages 1-3. In our case, the bib being a bit big isn’t a bad thing really – it covers more of his clothes! Not only all that, but Raife looks so cute in his tunic bib – especially with food covering his little face!
If you’re looking for a product that’ll help protect your babies’ clothes, is so easy to clean and looks lovely, then you should definitely check out the Messy Me tunic bib. They are machine washable at 30 degrees if it gets particularly mucky.
The customer service I received was excellent – something I’m really critical of when ordering online. When you do receive your order, you’ll even receive a guide on how best to care for your product, ensuring it lasts as long as it should. For me, the bib arrived in a matter of days which I was really impressed by and although I had to wait a few days for my son to be in a good mood to take some photos, the wait really was worth it! I literally cannot wait to use it next mealtime!
